Okay, so you have a great plan for a business.

You’ve got the necessary paperwork done, you’ve got your products ready, you’ve set up a website and social media accounts, you’ve got friends and family following you, you’ve cashed in for paid ads ...

And then you wait.

For any kind of engagement, followers, page views but you’re having a hard time getting your online business traction.

Hey, we get it. The Collectr team is hard at it and experimenting day in day out.

Here are some things we’ve learned along the way:

1. Hashtags work

There are a ton of hashtags you can used, particularly on Twitter and Instagram. Your followers will soon come and will stay if they feel you’re connecting with them. Research hashtags before you use them, utilize trending ones, create your own hashtags and remember to keep them simple and don’t overdo it.

2. Powerful Branding

In this era where practically every business has a social media presence, it’s vital you stand out. Your content should give your fans value, the way you structure your social media accounts should be instantly recognizable and a strong logo, vision, mission, tagline and professional appearance will generate referral after referral.

3. Content that will provide value

Writing articles and blogs that will help promote your business’s SEO is great, but there are over 500 million blogs on the world wide web today. That’s a lot and you’ll have massive competition and that’s where powerful branding will come in handy here.

Video content is also a great way to gain traction. Interactive, engaging, higher level of virality and emotionally charged, you can connect with your fans at a more personal level than words. Check out these free editing software that can take your video content to the next level.

If you’re on the artsy side, you can turn your blogs and how-tos into infographics. People are attracted to visuals that are eye-catching. You don’t have to be a designer to create great graphics, check out Canva to start showcasing your work.

4. Promoting it

Once you have a solid piece of content, it’s time to promote it to get more traction. Distribute it on your social media pages and your website. Join Facebook groups and discover like-minded communities and establish new connections. If possible, post it on online publishing platforms like Medium. This will ensure you maximize the visibility of your content.

So, there you go. We hope our tips can help your business and services reach a wider audience.
